Allentown, PA – The Morning Call

Whitehall Township commissioners on Monday tabled a resolution for conditional-use approval of a proposed 55-and-older community in the township’s northern section.
The commissioners said Grist Mill Development Co. will have to submit a study on ‘active-adult’ traffic before they will take any action on the request to allow a conditional use for the project, which would consist of 82 detached, single family homes.

Sketch plans for a proposed retail center and restaurant near Hamilton Boulevard were reviewed Tuesday by the Lower Macungie Township Planning Commission.
The preliminary sketch of West Valley Market Place, on Mill Creek Road between Hamilton Boulevard and Lower Macungie Road, shows a 19,690-square-foot retail building with up to 11 storefronts. The site is near Wal-Mart.

Executives from Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) and Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi Ltd. (SCM) have signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding to conclude a plan that would result in a new ownership structure for SCM.
The companies are in discussions with the intention of reaching definitive agreements for the plan where Caterpillar would own the majority of the outstanding shares of SCM, with MHI owning the remaining shares.

Wessner’s Excavating LLC has been awarded the site improvement and HOP contract for Country Mews Estates, a 78 acre site located in Washington Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. The developer is Tucker Development LLC and the project engineer is Benchmark Civil Engineering Services, Inc.
Wessner’s will be utilizing GPS technology for this project. Work will include, but not limited to, layout, grading, excavation & drainage. The project is scheduled for completion July 2007.
